Program Overview
LinkedIn is becoming a critical part of many sourcers’ and recruiters’ practice. Unfortunately, this is creating a threefold problem:
- The better you know and understand how to use LinkedIn the more you will get out of it. But getting up to speed can take a lot of time. Proper maintenance takes even more time and constant attention.
- The more LinkedIn is used as an alternative to job boards the less useful it becomes. The best candidates get turned off by frequent recruiter contact and limit public access or network elsewhere.
- Spening too much time on LinkedIn means less time and effort to spend elsewhere. Recruiters who have been defaulting to jobboards for years–now falling behind the industry’s best practices–will soon be joined by those who have become similarly dependent on LinkedIn.
This 90-minute session can be used as a standalone workshop or optimized as part of the Recruiting 2.0: Golden Rules for Surviving the Social Web series of webinars.
The pros and cons for LinkedIn are covered, balanced with ways use it without committing too much time and effort. The workshop provides “creative alternatives” that can be implemented for current and future recruiting needs.
